He was such an inspiring teacher. To answer his question, I would say that many point to passages such as Luke 5:20 and conclude that we are saved by faith alone, or John 3:16 and conclude that we are saved by belief alone. It is only after a study of the entire subject that you understand that faith encompases belief, trust, commitment, and obedience to commands such as confession and baptism. We are saved by Grace thru faith (Eph 2:8-9). Grace is God's unmerited favor. Grace is God's part of the equation. He sent his son to offer salvation to the world. But we have a part in salvation as well, and our part is called faith. But faith INCLUDES belief, trust, commitment and obedience.
